Mrs Skelding - I am a passionate Early Years teacher at The Vale Primary Academy.  I enjoy spending time with my family, visiting new places and meeting new people.
Mrs J Murdoch- Hobbies: music, reading, visiting art galleries, playing with my little girl, spending time with friends and drinking lots of coffee - I am a Starbucks addict!


Year 1 Teachers - Miss D Jackson and Miss A Hawcroft  

Miss D Jackson - Out of school, I enjoy running; I have competed in several 10Ks, a half marathon and, more recently, mud / obstacle challenges such as The Major Series and Tough Guy. I enjoy photography and I also have a long standing love of cars; enjoying F1 and going to Rally Cross Meetings. Having just returned from a 10 months solo trip round SE Asia, Bali and New Zealand, travelling is my true passion.

Miss A Hawcroft - After graduating with a degree in Psychology, I have worked with children for the last 4 years in the UK and in Canada. I am currently completing my School Direct Trainee Teacher course. Travelling and watching live music are two huge passions of mine. 


Year 2 Teacher - Miss J Metcalfe 
 My name is Miss Metcalfe and I am the class two teacher. My favourite subjects in school are PE and English (especially reading). I love horse riding and even had my own horses for a while. As a child I moved around a lot with my parents job so I have seen lots of different parts of England and other countries. The best place I lived was in Canada where it got so cold I could ice skate down the roads! My favourite books are the Harry Potter series and my favourite film is A Little Mermaid. The best part about being a teacher is getting to learn all of these little things about each new face in my class and knowing that I get to have such an impact in their lives. 


Year 3 Teacher - Mr J Hope 
I am originally from Sunderland but moved to Leeds for University. I enjoy being active and out and about with friends and family. My favourite sport is football and I support Sunderland. 


Year 4 Teacher - Mrs C Sidgwick 
I am currently the Year 4 class teacher and I am also coordinating the initial teacher training across school. This is my fifth year teaching at The Vale. In my spare time, I have been known to tread the boards with local musical theatre companies and I am an adjudicator for the Leeds Civic Arts Guild. I also have a soft spot for any kind of canine!

 

Year 5 Teacher - Mrs K Burnell and Designated Safeguarding Officer 
In my spare time it's all about the family. Soft play areas, reading and playing are my particular favourites. I love walking, this year I took part in the three peaks challenge for charity. My best friend and I raised over £1000 in honour of her disabled son, jack. 


Year 6 Teacher - Miss S Taylor 
 Out of school I enjoy keeping fit, playing golf, walking at the seaside and North Yorkshire. I also like cooking, baking and gardening.
